Seeing what's on your network is made easy. 10-Strike Network Inventory Explorer is self explanatory and easy to understand. It's a program that lets you view hardware and software on network computers.

The package is approx. 5 Mb large and it should be easy going even for a slower Internet connection. The installation process won't bug you with any settings or other components to be installed. Just choose where you want it to be installed and you'll have it in no time.

You can't dive straight in the interface, but, if you take a minute to look around, you'll find that everything falls into place in a logical manner. There are three main sections on the interface which you'll spend most of the time. In the upper left part you can find a map of your network. Here, you can select the computer you want to view, having the possibility to choose from a long list of hardware and software. This will be displayed, in a more detailed view, on the right side of the window.

The top menus contain quite a number of features, but the most important ones can be found on the toolbar. Adding a new PC from the network is child's play. There are many ways in which you can do this, all found as buttons on the toolbar. First, you can add a machine manually. Clicking the designated button will bring up a window where you can type in the computer's name, network address and other information. An easier way of doing this is using the option for adding from your IP range or from the local neighbourhood. This will scan all the machines from your area and will display a list of results from which you can check which PC you want to add. The program automatically adds your IP address to a file where it's needed so you won't have to do it yourself.

Pros

You can view all sorts of information about a computer from your network and the interface is designed in a way that knowledge about IPs and networks are not a must.

Cons

Although it is easy to understand, you still need a few minutes to get your head around the interface. 10-Strike Network Inventory Explorer enables you to see any hardware or software on other computers from your network, track any changes or make upgrade plans. All done from an easy to understand interface.
